Matthew has been dedicated to writing full time since 2023.

He has written three manuscripts in three years which have progressed in quality from “not completely awful” to “needs some improvement” to “Maggie Clutterbuck Prefers Life in the Asylum”, which early readers seem to really enjoy.

Matthew’s early works demonstrated a propensity for romantic comedy. He has combined that skill with a desire to represent older people, gay people and wildly eccentric people in the most fun and positive light.

Matthew intends for his work to bring joy to his readers while discreetly provoking thought on friendship, acceptance and being worthy of love.

Matthew grew up in Adelaide, Australia and has lived in nine different cities in seven different countries. He has learned and continues to learn a lot about people, cultures, relationships and love along the way.
